The Td5 Alive 'Larger Charger' is a Hybrid Turbocharger for all Td5 models. Made in the UK, exclusively for us, by Owen Developments - The only UK company authorised by Garrett, to make hybrid turbos! As you'd expect from Td5 Alive, these are made to very tight engineering tolerances, to ensure long term reliability, and maximum efficiency.

These turbochargers are designed to increase usable torque throughout the entire RPM range, from Idle at 750rpm, all the way up to the rev limiter at 4850rpm (and beyond!). Torque is notably improved from the moment you set off (where the standard turbo lags) and continues to pull hard all the way through, giving massive mid range and top end gains.

Due to the increased efficiency of the turbo, any exhaust smoke seen with a standard turbo will be cleaned up, and indeed, with the correct fuelling can yield much greater gains over a much wider rpm range.

Power outputs of over 210bhp can be attained with this turbo, when coupled with the appropriate ECU mapping, and additional modifications.

This really is the ultimate all round, high performance Td5 turbocharger!

The standard Td5 produces a boost pressure of 15psig. It is common to add a larger Intercooler to increase performance, along with a suitable remap, but these two together just won't be working as well as they could do. Often is the case that someone will add a performance intercooler, only to find that the car is only slightly brighter than before. This is due to the standard boost pressure, which will not allow a performance Intercooler to work at optimum efficiency.

It is possible to increase the turbo boost pressure, to give more power and torque, by fitting the Td5 Alive Booster! This clever liitle box will alow an increase in boost pressure, without the engine management sensing an 'overboost' situation, which can put the car into Limp Mode. With more boost present, the performance Intercooler is able to better dissipate the additional heat generated, making for a much more dense intake air charge, and hence giving more power and torque.

If you have a bigger Intercooler, but don't have a booster, then you're not realising the potential of your engine!

Please note that this product should only be used in conjunction with a remapped engine management system, and larger performance intercooler!
